I’ve always wanted one of these: http://www.ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge/

Yeah, I’ve had one for years and years. I don’t know if I’d get another with the cheapo Bluetooth OBDII adapters and Torque Pro that exist today, but the one I've had has been 100% flawless.

I’ve found that Torque can’t pull certain info, and it’s not always accurate. That and for some reason the cheapo ELM327 isn’t working with my phone...

So basically it’s this or an OBD2 handheld. Between the 2 I tend to lean to the ScanGauge.

I looked at those before. I liked the interface better, but it was missing some functionality compared to the ScanGauge. Now it looks like they’ve addressed that... hmm...

Confirmed, it has the functions now. And it’s $100USD cheaper. Screw the ScanGauge, I’m getting one of these.

What functionality was it missing? I haven’t looked terribly in depth at either in a long time. I forgot about ultragauge until I read your post.

You should use the $100 you save to buy me one to haha.

Performance monitors. Yes I’m that guy :)

I’m also the guy who, because one has it but the other is way cheaper, doesn’t buy anything. I’m glad I didn’t now.

Im also wanting an ultragauge. The temp gauge on my cruiser is worthless

I love how the website has it hooked up in a PT Cruiser

I’ve had one for a few years. It has come in handy a few times, but overall I’m unimpressed with the quality. It randomly loses connection, occasionally resets itself to factory settings, and most of the time refuses to clear to check engine light on my Jeep (that could just be because of the low quality early Mopar obd2). It’s entirely possible I got a dud, though. I got it for free- it was in the glove box of a Mustang a bought a few years back, so I shouldn’t complain too much.

I got one for our Tacoma when we started pulling a trailer, it let’s me keep an eye on transmission temps as well as coolant temps while on the road.

After a little while I got another for the Subaru, they are simple to get going and offer a ton of custom codes through the x-code programming. I know the prius/hybrid forums have cracked a ton of cool codes, the subaru have some good ones for the turbo cars as well. I would like a diff split but the differentials don’t report to the ecu.

The trip calculations are exact as well, I’ve used the distance to empty on trips to plan my fuel ups.. it’s way more accurate than the tank gauge.

The other one is if you change tire sizes you can recalculate your speed and have it displayed.

back then the scangauge was the only one in the market i loved it

on my LS1 swapped car none of the gauges worked

i just plugged the scangauge in it tells me everything i needed to know. RPM, MPH, water temp, air temp, volt etc
